Fire Equipment Sales & Service

We help with all your fire equipment needs, including supply of a wide range of products, an installation service and servicing your equipment.

We help Northland businesses to decide what they might need when building a new building or renovating an existing one, and provide regular inspections following an equipment register so everything is logged for you.

We are fire equipment specialists, across all business types, across all industries.

Our technicians come to your site and assess your fire safety needs for buildings, fixed and mobile plant equipment and vehicles. Our technicians review your location, the fire risk at your site, the type of equipment, work carried out on your site, and the size of your site when assessing your fire equipment compliance and requirements.

Alternatively, you can also call our office and one of our friendly team members will be able to give you the assistance, advice, or help you need.

We are your fire, safety, and compliance experts, happy to help with building fire solutions, recommending the products you need, as well as installing and servicing them for you. We carry out annual inspections and five yearly pressure tests for our clients, issuing you a compliance certificate to state that your site meets NZS:4503 requirements.

Flow Tests
( For risers on in-ground hydrants )

Flow Tests

We perform fire hydrant and riser flow tests all around Northland. We carry out these tests, with a comprehensive flow test report to help you see what water is available for fire fighting to create safe designs. A flow test determines if there are suitable water supplies available for sprinklers, risers, and hydrants.

We’re ISO 9001:2015 certified, and an AON approved Sprinkler Design and Installation company.

A flow test would need to be carried out if there is a new build, renovations or new subdivisions. We undertake these tests for engineers who may need to include the flow test results in their reports or for Project Managers.

Before carrying out these tests, we liaise with the relevant authority, such as the council or fire and emergency, to see if they have any prior information about the area that could help us. To carry out the tests, a qualified fire systems technician will use a Giddans Hydrant Flow Meter, which is certified flow test equipment.

Talk with our team to find out how we can help you with your fire hydrant flow testing.

Evacuation Schemes

Evacuation Schemes

Many commercial properties may require an Approved Evacuation Scheme and your building needs to comply with particular standards and regulations.

A building will generally require a fire evacuation scheme if you employ more than 10 people, if you are selling accommodation for more than 5 people, or you are gathering 100 people in an area for any particular reason.

We assist our clients in creating their fire evacuation scheme, creating the floor plan with locations of exits and fire extinguishers and submitting the scheme to Fire & Emergency NZ for approval.

Fire Sprinkler System Design & Installation
(NZS 4541)

Fire Sprinkler System Design & Install

Building & Fire Services design (through our partner company Fire & Safety Design NZ Limited) and install fire sprinkler systems for safety and property protection. We look at flow tests, your documents and all the requirements to decide what you need for your building.

When designing a sprinkler system, we will ensure that:

  • The occupancy of the risk to be protected is identified according to the amount of combustibility of the contents and the likely fire intensity, in order to determine the density of water needed to control the fire.
  • The water distributing system (the pipework arrangement) is designed so it will be capable of delivering water throughout the premises with the most economic array to suit the water supply.

These sprinkler systems are important for safety and prevent fires from reaching destructive proportions, which could mean the difference between a minor interruption and an extended or permanent shutdown. All our sprinkler systems fully comply to industry standards and local government regulations.

Trial Evacuations

Trial Evacuations

When was the last time that you and your staff completed a trial evacuation? Do your staff know where the “Place of Safety” is at your site or where the nearest fire exit is? Completing six-monthly trial evacuations are essential for all businesses to help remind your staff the essentials of an evacuation.

We travel to your site and safely turn on and off the alarm. When all of the staff are coming out of the building, we complete a report and note anything that could be improved such as warden duties, staff knowing where the exits are, appropriate place of safety and much more.

Key things to remember:

  • Where is the nearest exit? Familiarise yourself with which pathway you need to take.
  • If you hear the alarm go off, stop what you are doing immediately and leave. Do not stop to gather your belongings.
  • Report to your Head or Deputy Warden once you are at the place of safety.

Contact our team to organise your own trial evacuations.
